At just 36 years old, Jared Kushner has become a powerful figure in American politics. Kushner is currently Senior Advisor to his famous father-in-law, President Donald Trump. He’s been closely involved in the Trump campaign since its inception and now has a big role in the Trump government.

Below, we’ve put together a list of “Jared Facts” to shine a light on some of the lesser known aspects of Jared’s life.

1. Jared Fact – Education


Jared attended Harvard University, where his father donates $2.5 million, in the late 90’s. He would go on to graduate from Harvard and continue to complete his post-grad at NYU.

2. Jared Fact – Fly Clubjared-kushner-fly-club

While Kushner was attending Harvard University, where he graduated in 2003, he was a member of the Fly Club. The Fly Club is a final club, Harvard’s version of a fraternity. Membership in this club is for life and notable members of the Fly Club include two former presidents, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Theodore Roosevelt, as well as former Supreme Court Justice, Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr, among others.

3. Jared Fact – Record Buy


In 2006, the Kushners became real estate record holders when they bought the office buildings at 666 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan for $1.8 billon. It’s the highest price ever paid for a single building in United States history. The Kushners paid $1,200 per square of the building in New York City. Jared, himself, signed the contract to buy the property.

4. Jared Fact – Buying and Selling

trading1Coming from a real estate background, Jared was wheeling and dealing even at an early age. While at Harvard, Jared made a reported profit of $20 million buying, renovating and selling condos in nearby Somerville, Massachusetts. With the money made in Somerville, Jared would go on to buy the New York Observer newspaper for $10 million dollars – at the age of 25.

5. Jared Fact – Behind Bars


Jared’s father, Charles, pleaded guilty to 18 counts of making illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion and witness tampering in 2004. Charles was sentenced to 14 months in jail. Jared calls this the defining event of his life. At only 24 years old, Jared was thrust into running Kushner Companies while his father was in jail.

6. Jared Fact – The String Puller


As the de facto campaign manager for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, Jared ran the whole operation. He created a team that oversaw the important social media aspect of the campaign. He also recommended that Mike Pence become Trump’s running mate and vice presidential candidate. It’s also said that he was responsible for Chris Christie’s firing – payback for the governor’s involvement in the prosecution of his father.

7. Jared Fact – Judaism

Jared is devout in his faith to Judaism. At Harvard, while at the Fly Club, instead of the usual hazing rituals that these sorts of club/fraternities expect of their new members, Jared would invite the pledges to Shabbat dinner with his rabbi.

His wife, Ivanka Trump, even converted to Judaism before marrying Jared in 2009. To this day, Jared keeps kosher and observes Shabbat.

8. Jared Fact – Personal Life


With Ivanka Trump, Jared has three children: Arabella Rose, Joseph Frederick and Theodore James. Ivanka and Jared’s romantic relationship started as friends thought they would be a logical pairing for a professional relationship and set them up for a business lunch. The rest, they say, is history

Jared Kushner is going to be a hugely important person in the American political landscape for at least the next 4 years and maybe beyond.
